Quesnel man sentenced in connection to Prince George man’s death

A Quesnel man, who pled guilty to Impaired Driving Causing Death, will spend some time in jail.

Cody Dan, who was 19 years old at the time of the accident in 2012, has been sentenced to two years less a day in Supreme Court.

Dan also received 12 months probation and a three-year driving prohibition.

Dan also pled guilty to one count of Taking a Motor Vehicle without Consent.

Charges of Impaired Driving and Driving While over .08 were stayed.

RCMP were called to a single-vehicle accident on the Nazko Highway back in August of 2012.

Police say they found the vehicle in the ditch fully engulfed in flames near Long Road.

A 17-year-old passenger, Larry Laurent from Prince George, was pronounced dead at the scene.
