RCMP say a suspicious powder found at the Canada Post delivery station in Prince George in the fall was a sugar substitute.
On October 24th, postal workers evacuated the 15th Avenue facility and emergency crews arrived on scene with a hazard team.

The package was retrieved and taken to the RCMP’s laboratory, where they determined the food product wasn’t harmful.
During the incident, workers were out for several hours, and only one made contact with the substance and was showered off as a precaution.
Police are reminding the public to consult with mail providers to ensure items are packaged and approved for shipping.
