The Prince George RCMP is turning to the public for help in investigating a motor vehicle collision which claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Police say the collision occurred at around 4:30 a.m. yesterday (Monday) at the intersection of First Avenue and Victoria Street.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a grey 2020 Honda CRV remained on scene and has been cooperating with police.

Criminality and impairment are not currently suspected as factors.

“The vehicle was traveling westbound along First Avenue when the collision occurred,” said Northern BC Spokesperson for the RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. “Investigators are asking that anyone who was passing through the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or has dash camera footage of the incident or the driving behaviour of the vehicle involved, to please contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line to speak with police.”

The intersection was closed for a significant period of time while Mounties investigated.

The RCMP extend their condolences to the family and friends of those affected by this incident.
