Nechako Valley Secondary falls to College Heights in PG Bowl

The College Heights Cougars are back on top when it comes to high school football in Prince George, winning 13-0 in the PG Bowl over the Nechako Valley Secondary Vikings.

While the sun peeked out from behind some clouds throughout the game, the wind was biting at Masich Place Stadium Saturday.

College Heights Thomas Wightman called his own number to open the scoring, finding the end zone on a sneak in the opening quarter. The extra point attempt was no good.

From there, it was a defensive duel between the two teams as they traded punts, turnovers and takeaways for most of the game.

AJ Stevenson also ran in a touchdown for the Cougars, and made several key plays on the defensive side of the ball, earning him the College Heights game MVP award.

Nechako Valley receiver Myer Himmelright was named his team’s MVP for the game.

College Heights will head into provincials, and were ranked 8th heading into Saturday’s game. Nechako Valley was ranked 10th.
