44th annual Northern BC Home and Garden Show being held next weekend

Spring is here, and so is renovation and home makeover season.

The Northern BC Home and Garden Show returns to Prince George for the 44th time next weekend (April 19-21) in the Kin Centres.

“We have vendors that can help you design, build, buy, decorate, update and maintain your home,” Canadian Home Builders’ Association of Northern BC Executive Director Terri McConnachie told Vista Radio.

The event has been a spring staple of Prince George for a long while, McConnachie said they are expecting 10,000 – 12,000 people to tour through the show over its three-day span, including many people from Prince George’s neighbouring communities.

“We work all year long to produce and put on this show for our community, but we could not do it without dozens and dozens of volunteers,” she said. “I could not even spitball the hours between our board, committees, and volunteers that come back year after year.”

One part of the Home and Garden Show McConnachie was extra excited about is the Homely Home Office Makeover Giveaway.

“Times have changed and a lot of people are working from home,” McConnachie said. “Take a photo of your functional but homely home office and you could be entered into the final 10 submissions which will be posted at the homeshow.”

She explained people at the show will be able to vote on which of these top 10 home office setups – accompanied by a bio of the person who works in them – should get a $5,000 home office makeover from Mills.

Entries for the makeover can be submitted here, you can also learn more about the homeshow here.

General tickets to the homeshow cost $10 per adult, but are half off if purchased online before the show begins.
