Artemis Gold’s Blackwater Mine construction over halfway done

The Blackwater Mine construction has gone to schedule so far.

That is according to Artemis Gold’s 2023 quarter four report, which says the mine is still expecting its first gold pour in H2 2024.

Construction was nearly 60% complete at the end of 2023, they said $389 million of the $730 – $750  initial capital expenditure has been spent.

$615 million, or 84% of the lower-end budget, has been contractually committed.

The project also surpassed one million major hours worked last year.

Artemis reports they have over 320 employees working on the project, 20% are female and 30% are Indigenous. 50% of the team is regional, 80% are BC residents.

“The fourth quarter was highlighted by our workforce eclipsing one million hours worked without an LTI – an important achievement that reflects the hard work and commitment of our dedicated workforce,” Artemis Gold President and COO Jeremy Langford said in a release.
