More snow on the horizon for Vanderhoof

This week still has a little more snow in store.

Another 10cm is expected to fall over the Vanderhoof area starting tomorrow morning (Friday) and into Saturday.

According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau, “Across the region, amounts range from 5-15 centimeters during that same time period.”

Small amounts of snow are also expected on Saturday and Sunday, then Charbonneau said it will get warm again.

“After a prolonged period of pretty cold weather, daytime highs will be close to freezing over the weekend, and early next week we will see temperatures close to 0,” she said.

Environment Canada has forecast temperatures no lower than -10 from Saturday through mid next week.

Charbonneau said it is quite likely the region will experience another cold snap this winter, but it is too soon to say when.

“There have been some hints that maybe we return to colder conditions near the end of January, beginning of February,” she said. “I’ll say it is quite uncertain right now, we will have to keep an eye out to see if it actually materializes.”
