The Prince George RCMP is investigating a shooting in the Bear Lake area.
At 12:30 on Saturday afternoon, Mounties were advised of a shooting at a residence on the 400-block of Cinnamon Street in the Bear Lake area.
Police say they found one man suffering from a life-threatening injuries, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Later that evening, investigators identified the suspect in this investigation as 31-year-old Prince George resident, Michael Dillon Solmundson,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
“Police officers arrested Mr. Solmundson and held him in-custody until he could attend court.”
According to police, the following charges have been approved in the matter:
- Discharging a firearm with intent
- Aggravated assault
- Use of a firearm during the commission of an offence.
Police believe this was a targeted event, with no increased risk to the general public.
The file remains under investigation.
