School District 91 Superintendent of Schools retires

At the Regular Board meeting on November 15, 2021, Manu Madhok announced his retirement after
the 2021-22 school year.

Madhok has had a distinguished career with the school district that started in January 1993 with
teaching assignments at WL McLeod and Fort St. James Secondary.

This was followed by a period of secondment to Tl’azt’en First Nation for several years prior to returning to the school district as a principal at Eugene Joseph Elementary, David Hoy Elementary, and EBUS Academy before joining the School District’s senior leadership team as a Director of Instruction in the fall of 2012.

He served as an Assistant Superintendent until July 2018, when he was appointed Superintendent of Schools.

“Manu has been such an inspirational superintendent over the past four years. I am so grateful for his leadership and guidance through his strong advocacy for improving results for students across the District,” said Board Chair Dave Christie.

“On behalf of the Board of Education for School District 91, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Superintendent, Manu Madhok, and wish him the very best in all his future endeavours,” said Board Vice-Chair Nadine Frenkel.
