Cuba’s former leader Fidel Castro has died at the age of 90.
His brother, and current Cuban President, Raul Castro, announced his death late Friday night. His cause of death is unconfirmed.
After overthrowing the Cuban government in 1959, Castro became both head of state and head of government until 2008. His 49-year reign is the longest of any non-royal leader in the 20th century.
He will be cremated today.
