We saw no shortage of people receiving EI benefits in BC and Prince George during the month of July.
Stats Canada Analyst, Jeremy Weekes breaks down the numbers. “Regular employment benefits in British Columbia were 55,860, in Prince George, we saw 2,260.
That’s an increase of 500 people in the northern capital.
In Canada there 575,200 on pogge during the same month.
10% of all beneficiaries in the country came from BC.
The number of claims in the province also went through the roof according to Weekes.
“The total number of claims for July were 35,600 that compares to 307,600 at the Canada level which is slightly more than 10%.”
