It’s been nearly five years since Madison Scott went missing.

The 20 year old vanished while camping with friends at Hogsback Lake south of Vanderhoof on May 28th 2011.

Every year, family and friends of Madison hold the “All in for Maddy” poker ride to keep awareness of the situation high.

“This will be the 5th poker ride we’ve had, as Maddy has been missing for 5 years. We always have it on the weekend that Maddy went missing, and this year it will be on the date that she went missing.” Madison’s mother Dawn Scott told Valley Country’s John Vosper in an interview

The ride is held on the trails around Hogsback Lake; people can participate by walking or riding a horse or ATV on three different trails. Well over 300 people turn out each year, purchasing poker hands with a chance to win prizes.

“The amazing love and support we receive is just what keeps us going. We live in an amazing community, we have a lot of fantastic people that have stuck by us for almost five years.” Dawn said

The first wave of riders departs at 10am. More details on the poker ride can be found here.

Five years after every parent’s worst nightmare, Dawn says her family and other children continue to take things one day at a time.

“They are good kids. You have to carry on, you know it’s a blessing and terrible thing that life carries on. You have to, they miss their sister and you just continue on.”

She says they are still holding on to hope, and not giving up in the search for Madison.

“Somebody knows something, and we need them to come forward. Somebody knows something about Maddy and we need to find her and we are not going to stop until we will.”
