Residents in Fraser Lake will be left scrambling to buy food thanks to the closure of Super Valu which takes effect June 15th.
Employee, Kane Casimel noticed the writing on the wall after making some brief observations. “There were certain items not being ordered, price increases taking effect plus the adversity of the economic landscape.”
Casimel adds the closure will affect more than just the employees.
“I am thinking about the pensioners, people on social assistance and low-income families that depend on stores like Super Valu who can’t afford to travel to Vanderhoof, Burns Lake or Prince George to shop.”
Efforts to contact Owner/Operator Sylvia Hendrickson have been unsucesfull so far.
