Fort St. James man wins $500,000

Fort St. James’ Leonard Magnus has won the $500,000 Extra on the August 31, 2017 edition of the Daily Grand draw.

“I heard the winning jingle when I checked my ticket and saw the screen flash $500,000,” Magnus explains. “I couldn’t believe it. I needed the store clerk to convince me I was the winner!”

The winning ticket was purchased at Lakeside Pharmacy in Fort St. James.

With his pull, Magnus says he is not planning anything too extravagant. His plans are to pay off some bills, put the rest in the bank, and continue working.

Winning is nothing new to Magnus; he says he won $1,000 about 10 years ago too.

When asked if he would keep playing, Magnus exclaimed, “I’m going to continue playing, I want to win the big one just like everyone else!”
