School District 91 has announced Leona Prince’s secondment to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Indigenous Education with the Ministry of Education and Childcare.
Prince has dedicated 18 years to education in Northern BC, including as District Principal and Director of Indigenous Education within SD 91 for the last seven years.
She is a Lakes District Secondary graduate, and a member of the Lake Babine Nation.
In her new role, Prince will join the senior leadership team at the Ministry as the first educator from Northern BC to hold the provincial superintendent position.
