Fort Saint James hockey star picks up gold at World Junior A Challenge

Diego Johnson of Fort Saint James will enjoy the holidays with a gold medal around his neck.

The star forward for the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League was a member of Team Canada West who won the World Junior A Challenge on Sunday.

In the final, West defeated Team Canada East 7-2 from the Rath Eastink Community Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Johnson scored one goal in six games during the tournament.

The University of Wisconsin commit has 28 points in 28 games with the Crusaders this season.
