Three-year gender-based violence strategy unveiled by the province

An action plan to end stigma around gender-based violence has been announced by the B-C government.

The three-year plan includes the creation of safe spaces and housing for women and children leaving violence, 75 new sexual assault programs, new 24/7 crisis lines and more.

Finance Minister Katrine Conroy says nearly 62 million dollars from a new Canada-British Columbia bilateral agreement has been earmarked for the plan over four years.
