The Independent Investigations Office of BC is investigating a police incident in Quesnel that resulted in a man sustaining a serious injury.
Quesnel RCMP say members were patrolling on March 10th of this year at around 5-20 pm when they observed a man driving a GMC pickup truck in the North Fraser Drive/Marsh Drive area.
Police say the driver was believed to have a driving prohibition.
RCMP say they attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the man fled the scene and police did not pursue.
A short time later, the pickup was observed by officers on Edkins Street.
Subsequently there was a collision between the truck and police vehicles prior to his arrest.
The man sustained a serious injury which then triggered the IIO investigation.
