The BC Government is distributing $48 million to sports and arts and culture groups.
“People’s lives are enhanced by the sports, arts, and cultural programming that not-for-profit organizations offer throughout British Columbia,” said Anne Kang, Minister of Municipal Affairs.
“Healthy, vibrant communities are key to a healthy, vibrant province and these grants are one way our government is helping people in communities thrive.”
Fort St. James:
- Community Arts Council of Fort St. James, $7,500
Vanderhoof:
- Nechako Valley Swim Club, $15,000
- Vanderhoof Clippers Speed Skating Club, $13,000
- Nechako Figure Skating Club, $10,000
- Vanderhoof and District Minor Hockey Association, $26,000
- Nechako Valley Exhibition, $53,200
- Vanderhoof International Airshow Society, $10,000
The province distributes $140 million in community gaming grants to not-for-profits every year.
