Crews are setting controlled burns, as they try to bring a 60-square-kilometre wildfire under control in the South Okanagan region.
It’s one of the eight “fires of note” in the province, with more than 380 firefighters battling to bring it under control.
Officials say more than 500 properties are under evacuation orders.
Residents of another 1,000 properties are being told to prepare to evacuate at a moment’s notice.
There are seven active wildfires burning in the Prince George Fire Centre, all of which are either ‘being held’ or are ‘under control’.
