School District 91 still mulling over possible vaccine mandate

A final decision on a potential vaccine mandate within School District 91 could come in the New Year.

During Monday’s (December 13th) board meeting, the school board noted in its Employee Survey overview that nearly 86% of its 661 employees self-reported being fully-vaccinated.

Board Chair Dave Christie stated in a news release:

“While the results of the employee survey show a higher vaccination rate than the local region, we are still lower than many other parts of BC.”

“The outcome of this process could have many ramifications for our employees, students, and families, so taking the time to gather and analyze the information is essential.”

According to SD 91, twenty-two school districts in BC have announced they are not moving ahead with a vaccine mandate.
