The Northern Development Initiative Trust has finally chosen its next CEO.
Joel McKay will be NDIT’s second Chief Executive Officer. He’s been a part of the Trust’s executive team since 2012 and has worked in communications and marketing, economic research and analysis, and the Fabulous Festivals and Events funding program.
He says he’s not much will change after he assumes the role on October 3rd.
“We serve a region the size of France and there are different needs across that region and we’re always at our best when we listen to communities when we’re responsive to their needs and focus on the economy. That’s what we’ve done for 11 years and that’s what we’re going to continue to do.”
Between now and early October when current CEO Janine North steps away, he says it’s business as usual.
“She is leading the organisation in concert with the board until then and I look forward to absorbing as much wisdom and knowledge as I can from her over the next few weeks and then continuing to work with our board in the years ahead.”
North announced her retirement in March. She is NDIT’s founding CEO and has held the position since 2005.
