Free Wi-Fi coming to Northern BC inspection stations

The government is hoping truck drivers will benefit from free Wi-Fi at inspection stations.

Throughout areas in Northern BC commercial vehicle inspection stations will be equipped with free Wi-Fi to improve safety and efficiency on BC roads.

This service is aimed to provide easier access to online services, such as DriveBC, to check highway conditions or closures, obtain transport permits for future trips, and to stay in contact with family and colleagues.

The following 24 inspection stations that will be receiving free Wi-Fi:

Northern Region:

  • Fort Nelson – 2809 Alaska Highway North, Fort Nelson
  • Fort St. John – 9011 Alaska Highway North, Fort St. John
  • Pouce Coupe – 13350 Highway 2, Dawson Creek
  • Prince George North – 1581 John Hart Highway, Prince George
  • Red Rock – 360-1011 4th Ave., Prince George
  • Terrace – 2916 Highway 16 East, Terrace
  • Tete Jaune Cache – Junction of Highway 5 and Highway 16, Valemount
  • Vanderhoof – Junction of Highway 16 and Highway 27, Vanderhoof

South Coast Region:

  • Duncan North – 7201 Trans-Canada Highway, Duncan
  • Haig – 63620 Highway 7, Hope
  • Hunter Creek – 58705 Trans-Canada Highway, Hope
  • Laidlaw – 58710 Trans-Canada Highway, Hope
  • Nordel – 8150 Nordel Way, Delta
  • Parksville – 1326 Island Highway East, Nanoose Bay
  • Pacific – 316-176th St., Surrey

Southern Interior Region:

  • Castlegar – 310 Highway 3, Castlegar
  • Golden – 2570 N. Trans-Canada Highway, Golden
  • Kamloops Eastbound – 2575 W. Trans-Canada Highway, Kamloops
  • Kamloops Westbound – 2650 W. Trans-Canada Highway, Kamloops
  • Kaleden – 100 Main Street, Penticton
  • Quesnel – 3870 Highway 97 North, Quesnel
  • Sparwood – 17 km east of Sparwood on Highway 3, Sparwood
  • Vernon – 6775 Highway 97, Vernon
  • Yahk – Junction of Highway 3 and Highway 95, Yahk

On average Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) officers conduct more than 25,000 inspections each year.
