A fatal collision near highway 16 has claimed the life of a 65 year old Vanderhoof resident.
Just before 10:30 on Wednesday, local RCMP were called to the site of a serious on Bearhead road west of Vanderhoof.
Officers arrived to find a minivan had collided with an unloaded logging truck. The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the collision, the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call North District Traffic Services at 250-649-4004.
Police have said they will not be releasing the name of the deceased.
