Local job fair expecting 400 people to be interviewed

The third annual Kopar Administration Job Fair takes place this week in Prince George.

Nearly 30 employers from local and national companies based in Northern BC will meet with prospective residents looking to get back into the workforce.

“Some of the employers we have this year include CN Rail, the City of Prince George, Youth Corrections, Lomak, Starbucks, Walmart, the RCMP are coming in with their recruiting; I think our last one had over 400 individuals come through to visit the employers that we had at the location,” says spokesperson Ken Newell.

He adds this opportunity is unique in allowing interviewees to bypass most stages of hiring.

“A lot of places are bringing their hiring managers, so you’re getting an opportunity to talk to somebody and show your face rather than just being a piece of paper across the someone’s desk or an online application necessarily.”

The job fair takes place at Kopar’s newest location on Brunswick Street, Wednesday from 10AM to 3PM.
