A fundraising event this weekend will hit close to home for one Vanderhoof family.
John Togyi’s son, Avery, was diagnosed with a Wilm’s Tumour in April and spent most of the summer in the BC Children’s Hospital for treatment.
“It’s terrifying and then you quickly realize that you’re allowed to be terrified,” Togyi says.
“You’re allowed to be afraid because you really don’t know what’s going on.”
There will be a dinner and live auction at the Friendship Centre in Vanderhoof on Saturday, October 21st.
Doors will open at 6pm, dinner is at 7pm, and the auction is at 8pm.
Tickets are $35, a table can be reserved with the purchase of six tickets.
Tickets are available at Wallace Studios or by phone at 250-570-8560.
All proceeds will go towards the BC Children’s Hospital.
