Vanderhoof to see a wet start to the fall season: Environment Canada

It’s going to be a wet start to the fall in Prince George/Vanderhoof area according to Environment Canada.

Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau says the current weather pattern is slowly changing.

“Prince George and Vanderhoof we’ll see lots of showers as well and a little more cloud but we also are expecting things to warm up a little bit but under the influence of a really cool air mass for the last week or so and that’s going to shift out and we’re going to see temperatures for the next week kind of rise up above normal.”

Charbonneau adds there is a 60 to 70 percent chance of above-normal temperatures this fall.

“That’s the forecast we have for this fall Call 4 this fall – you know it does move out any kind of day-to-day variability so, not to say we couldn’t have a cold snap somewhere in there but on average, the forecast for the fall is looking for warmer-than-normal temperatures.”

The average summer temperature in Vanderhoof was 15.8 degrees, which is slightly above the normal of 15.5.

Precipitation was well below normal at 96.4 millimetres of rain – the normal is 152.2.
