RDBN DECIDES NEXT STEPS FOR RE-USE SHEDS

At a meeting Thursday, the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako decided on a two-pronged method to improve re-use sheds.

The first step is that each region creates a “personalized” swap shed plan for their unique area.

Regional District Chair Bill Miller says local members and mayors will each be responsible these plans based on their site’s activity and service levels.

“How much money they want to spend, what their service level [is], and essentially, how they’re going to deal with the risks,” he says.

The second conclusion was the RDBN will find ways to improve safety at all transfer stations. Miller says this will be a longer process and will include hiring professional safety contractors.Members will share these “personalized” methods at a meeting on January 14th.
