Campfire ban to be lifted in Vanderhoof Forest District

The campfire ban in the Vanderhoof will be over effective Noon on Thursday, September 7th.

A combination of more seasonal weather conditions and recent precipitation in the area has reduced the risk of wildfire in the area.

There are still some restrictions, however, as open fires larger than a campfire (0.5m x 0.5m) are still prohibited within the entire Prince George Fire Centre.

These activities are also still prohibited:

  • Category two and category three open fires
  • The use of sky lanterns, binary exploding targets, air curtain burners, fireworks, including firecrackers and burning barrels or burning cages of any size or description

To report a wildfire or open burning violation, call 1-800-663-5555 toll-free. or *5555 on a cellphone.
