Prince George RCMP turning to the public for information in homicide investigation

The Prince George RCMP is looking for information in a homicide investigation.

Police received a missing person report for 29-year-old Julian Wich on January 2, 2026. According to police, he had not been seen by his family since December 10, 2025.

Mounties say suspicious circumstances surrounding his disappearance were identified by investigators early on, and the Serious Crime Unit assumed conduct of the file where it has remained under active investigation.

Police say Wich’s remains were found in the Fraser River on June 19, 2026. Based on circumstances surrounding the discovery and the subsequent investigation, the RCMP have deemed his death a homicide.

“We are asking that anyone who may have information relating to the death of Julian Wich to come forward to police,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. “Even information that may seem significant could assist us in advancing this investigation.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
