Well-known hockey mom identified as victim of fatal PG plane crash

The Prince George hockey community is mourning the loss of one of its own.

Several minor hockey programs announced on social media yesterday (Sunday) that Alex Garneau was the victim of Thursday’s fatal plane crash on Foothills Boulevard.

Garneau had ties to the HPL Kings, PG Whalers and the Cariboo Hockey program through her husband Jordan.

She also leaves behind her two children, Jackson and Josie.

The Transportation Safety Board noted on Friday the Beechcraft King Air 200 made a fatal emergency landing on a Prince George road after it lost power in one engine before colliding with four vehicles.

Two GoFundMe accounts have been set up to assist the family where over $100,000 has been raised so far.
