Quesnel pilot and passenger walk away from plane crash

A personal plane hit a little turbulence during its takeoff in Quesnel.

A member of the Quesnel Flying Club said another one of the Club’s members was taking off when they experienced a nose-over before it was in the air, which caused the plane to flip onto its back.

The Quesnel RCMP and Fire Department attended the scene at the Quesnel Airport and extracted the pilot and passenger from the wreckage. Captain Bart Scheider of the Quesnel Fire Department said the pilot “did everything right during the takeoff”.

Police and the airport’s crews are investigating what caused the plane to tip.

Both the pilot and passenger walked away from the crash with no injuries.
