The wildfires in the Big Bar Complex saw major growth overnight.

The Largest in the area, the Pear Lake Fire near Clinton, is now 103,920 hectares in size.

The French Bar Creek Fire is nearly 29,992 hectares large, and the Rim Lake Fire is 4,471 hectares.

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says that the Cariboo experienced a cold front today, particularly over the Pear Lake Fire, with stronger-erratic gusts of wind blowing from the northwest and switching to come through from the southwest.

The Wildfire Service says it is expecting to see Fire Growth in the Big Bar Complex throughout today.

Other wildfires are still burning across the Cariboo’s interior and in the north.

The Felker Fire, located around 18 kilometres south of Williams Lake, has seen little significant growth over the last few days.

The fire is 4,217 hectares large, and an evacuation order and alerts issued by the Cariboo Regional District remain in place.

BCWS says about six new wildfires have started in the Swan Lake and Little Springs area.

All of these fires are less than 1 hectare in size, and believed to have been caused by lightning strikes in the region on Saturday afternoon.

The Lessard Lake Fire and Kluscoil Park Fires in the North Cariboo are still out of control; however, the Wildfire Service says these fires have also seen little to no significant growth over the last few days.

The Lessard Lake Fire is 5,143 hectares, and the Kluscoil Park Fire is 1,588 hectares in size.

The Cariboo Regional District’s and Ulkatcho First Nation’s Evacuation Alerts for the Lessard Fire Area are also still in effect.
