Weekend crash in Quesnel claims life of 20-year-old motorcyclist

Quesnel Mounties are investigating a fatal incident involving a motorcycle rider.

According to the RCMP, the incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday on Highway 97 and Cedar Avenue where an SUV collided with a motorcycle.

The rider has been identified as a 20-year-old man from Quesnel who was later transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The victim died in hospital because of his injuries.

The driver of the SUV was reportedly not injured.

“The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the events leading up to the fatal collision that has not already spoken with police, is asked to contact the Quesnel RCMP,” said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch.
