Stats Canada says 2013-14 saw 64 thousand students in BC put on a cap and gown after graduating from a college or university in the province.
Analyst, Mychele Gagnon says the popular areas of study vary between male and female graduates.
“The top field of study for female graduates is in business management or in public administration, for males in architectural engineering and related technology.”
Gagnon adds BC leads the country when it comes to international students.
“The number is 15 percent for British Columbia which is the highest of all provinces with most coming from China or Hong Kong.”
6 out of 10 enrolments in post-secondary schools during the same time period were in programs at the bachelor level or above.
In the 2013-14 school year, 277,515 students were enrolled in either colleges or universities in BC.
