A popular waterslide will not be set up on University Hill this year.
Fun City Sliders has officially cancelled its Prince George location due to a lack of ticket sales less than two weeks before the event.

YMCA of Northern BC’s Manager of Marketing Stephanie Mikalishen-Deol says she’s disappointed for the community.
“Anyone who has purchased a ticket is getting a full refund, and those all have gone out as of now. So for some reason you haven’t received a refund for your ticket, you are asked to contact the Fun City Sliders directly.”
She hopes to bring back the 1,000-foot slide next year as the event is also a fundraiser for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
The goal is still to accumulate $50,000 for the cause before summer’s end.
“We’re just back in the planning stages as to what we’re going to do or what we can do to get the community to rally with us so that we can make sure we make that number and continue to support our community.”
