ICBC released its crash count data for 2024, with the North Central seeing a downward trend in numbers.
The region includes Vanderhoof, Prince George, Smithers, Cariboo Region, among others.
According to ICBC, the North Central saw 16,425 crashes in 2024, down from 17,180 in 2023.
Prince George had the highest with 4,687, followed by Williams Lake (1,216), Quesnel (1,118), and Fort St. John (1,099).
Vanderhoof recorded 414 crashes, up from 382 in 2023.
Compared with other regions, the Lower Mainland (202,420), Southern Interior (41,608), and Vancouver Island (41,506) were above the North Central.
