In one month, the YMCA of Northern BC will kickstart the summer by rolling out the large slip’n’slide for the annual Fun City Sliders.
The 1,000-foot long track will begin near the top of University Hill, close to the UNBC campus, and it’s expected to bring out nearly 4,000 people.
Manager of Marketing Stephanie Mikalishen says tickets are going to meet everyone’s budget.
“You could do a Single Slider Ticket and they start at $15. This year, there’s also Family Passes available and there’s also the Unlimited Slider Pass. That gets you sliding all day; last year, it only got you half the day, so that is literally sliding from 10AM until 4PM.”
She says the average waiting time for sliders in 2016 was nearly 12 minutes and tubes will be provided.
Mikalishen adds all proceeds will be going towards the YMCA’s Strong Kids campaign.
“One in five children and families receive financial assistance to participate in YMCA camps and programs, and that’s the money that makes that possible.”
Tickets are available on the Fun City Sliders and YMCA websites; the event takes place on July 15th.
