An Evacuation Alert was issued last night (July 10) at 10:30 by the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre for 340 parcels covering 12,045 hectares in the Barkerville-Cornish Mountain Fire Area.
The CRD said the Evacuation Alert was issued to give residents in that area time to prepare to evacuate their premises or property should it be required.
There are several wildfires burning in the northeast corner of the Cariboo Fire Centre, including the Cornish Mountain wildfire.
As of this morning (Thursday), the fire is an estimated 70 hectares in size.
