The BC Government will be conducting a test of the emergency alert system today. (Wednesday)
According to the province, the test alert will go to all compatible cell phones and will interrupt radio and television broadcasts at 10:55 am.
The test will assess the system’s readiness for an actual emergency and identify any required adjustments.
During last year’s wildfire season, the province issued 24 BC Emergency Alerts.
