**Update 2:05 pm**
Williams Lake RCMP and Emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash involving a semi and an SUV shortley after 9 this (Tuesday) morning.
North District Corporal Madonna Saunderson said the crash was reported to be in the area of Highway 97 and Lynes Creek Road.
“The driver of the semi was injured however the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.” Saunderson said, “The driver of the SUV was air lifted to hospital in critical condition.”
Saunderson said the semi had caught fire and threatened surrounding trees which Fire Rescue has under control.
The investigation is in its infancy and casual factors have yet to be determined Saunderson noted.
**Update 1:30pm **
As of 1:02 this afternoon Drive BC is reporting a detour is in effect via Likely Road to Bevaer Lake Road.
**ORIGINAL STORY**
Highway 97 (Cariboo Connector) is closed in both directions.
Williams Lake RCMP said police are at the scene of a collision on Highway 97 North of Mountain House Road and at this moment there is no planned time of reopening.
Drive BC is reporting a detour is not available.
