Prince George Kodiaks Football Club enters broadcast partnership with Vista Radio

Country 97fm is now the broadcast home of the Prince George Kodiaks Football Club.

The Kodiaks have entered into a broadcast partnership with Vista Radio Prince George, and all of their games will be broadcast on Country 97fm.

“It gives us really good exposure and an opportunity to promote our football program and our junior football team to the listeners of Vista Radio, which prior to now, wouldn’t have had that exposure,” said Kodiaks VP of Operation Scott Stoughton.

“Vista Radio is thrilled to announce this broadcast partnership with the Prince George Kodiaks,” said Vista Radio BC North Regional Manager Kyle Wightman.

“Football and country music go together hand-in-hand, and we look forward to broadcasting every home and road game on Country 97FM. The MyPGNow news team will have extensive coverage of the team throughout the season and all year with the Kodiaks involvement in community and youth sports. It’s a great day for football and Country 97FM, 94.3 the Goat. and our stations in Vanderhoof, the Cariboo, and Bulkley Valley are excited to join the Kodiak Army.”

Stoughton said the community support in Prince George and across the North has been exceptional.

“Our gameday experience has been looked at by junior programs across the Country, and we’re starting to get a reputation of one of the best, if not the best place to come and enjoy a junior football game.”

Entering the teams’ third season in the Canadian Junior Football League, Head Coach Jamie Boreham said this year is about establishing a winning culture in the North.

“Some of that’s through some recruitment, some of it’s through our off-season training, which our guys have been going through for the last three months here,” Boreham said.

“We’re really excited about the guys we’re bringing in.”

In the 2023 season, the Kodiaks went 2-8 in regular season action in the BC Football Conference.

The Kodiaks will open their ten game schedule at Masich Place Stadium on July 20th, welcoming the Vancouver Island Raiders to town.
