SD91 receiving $1.35 million from province for school upgrades

The provincial government will be footing the bill for upgrades at seven schools in the Nechako Lakes School District (SD91).

This includes:

  • Exterior wall and electrical upgrades at Mapes Elementary,
  • More electrical upgrades at David Hoy Elementary and Mouse Mountain Elementary,
  • Roofing Upgrades at Fraser Lake Elem-Secondary,
  • Kitchen Upgrades at Evelyn Dickson Elementary and Nechako Valley Secondary, and
  • HVAC Upgrades at Fort St James Secondary.

These upgrades, plus four new busses, will total $1.35 million.

The money is part of a $291.9 million investment into school maintenance projects around the province.

SD57 in Prince George also received $1.3 million for upgrades at three schools.

According to the province, $4 billion has been invested into new and improved schools since 2017.
