Hockey Canada has just unveiled its roster for the 2024 World Junior Hockey Championship, the pride of McBride will be lacing up in Sweden in a couple of weeks.
Tanner Molendyk, the 18-year-old Saskatoon Blades defenseman, will be headed to Sweden with the rest of team Canada for the annual tournament.
He was one of eight players 18 or younger to make the cut for Canada’s 22-man team.
Molendyk has 4 goals and 24 assists for Saskatoon in 24 games played this season, fourth in team scoring.
He was also drafted by the Nashville Predators in the first round of last year’s NHL draft – you can read more about that here.
