The Washington Capitals have named Quesnel’s Mitch Love as an assistant coach.
Love, who will primarily work with the Capitals’ defensemen, will join assistant coach Scott Allen and goaltending coach Scott Murray on head coach Spencer Carbery’s staff.

Love, who played his minor hockey in Quesnel, has won back to back coach of the year awards while behind the bench of Calgary Flames’ AHL affiliate.
