Williams Lake RCMP arrest two people after violent motel stabbing

One man is in stable condition following a stabbing at a Williams Lake motel.

The RCMP responded to the call just before 5 pm last night (Wednesday), where it was reported that a person had been stabbed multiple times at a facility along 7th Avenue.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson said BC Emergency Health Services was on the scene providing medical treatment and alerted the police.

“Police immediately attended and quickly identified two possible suspects and went to a home on 2nd Avenue where it was believed both suspects had fled following the assault.” Saunderson said,

“Due to the seriousness of the assault and evidence observed at and in the area of the home, police called for the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services. For the safety of everyone, police closed several streets in the area to all traffic.”

Saunderson stated two people, an adult man and woman were arrested without further incident.

They remain in custody pending a court appearance today (Thursday) in Williams Lake.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital and expected to recover.
