The federal government is to introduce legislation today (Thursday), to boost early learning and child care across the country.
The bill is expected to give teeth to Ottawa’s proposed ten-dollar-a-day child care program.
It’s expected to enshrine pledges from the provinces to increase spaces in licensed not-for-profit day care facilities.
Such legislation was a cornerstone of the minority government’s agreement with the New Democrats to ensure their support in Parliament.
