Health Canada is reviewing applications from two pharmaceutical firms for vaccines against the respiratory syncytial virus…..or RSV.
The number of cases of the virus has been shooting up, especially among children, with young patients overwhelming our children’s hospitals.
Both vaccines are aimed at people over the age of 60, who are at more serious risk if they develop respiratory infections.
Medical experts say it’s only a matter of time before RSV jumps from children to older adults.
