The B-C man accused of invading the San Francisco home of U-S House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is facing new federal charges of assault and attempted kidnapping.
David DePape, who’s originally from Powell River, is also facing several state charges.
DePape is accused of attempting to kidnap Pelosi when he broke into their San Francisco home last month.
She was in Washington at the time.
Her husband, Paul, suffered serious injuries in the attack……he’s now recovering at home.
DePape had apparently been living illegally in the U-S for the past 14 years.
