Bond reacts to job numbers

23 thousand new jobs were created in BC last month which spells good news.

Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training, Shirley Bond says part of the success can be attributed to a specific program.

“Since we introduced the jobs plan in British Columbia we have created just over 128 thousand new jobs up to this point.”

The provincial jobless rate remained at 6.3% in October.

BC also saw a spike of 20 thousand in youth employment which dropped their unemployment rate from 13.5 to 10.9%.

Of the 44 thousand new jobs created in Canada last month over half of those came from BC.
